Book Review ~ Love’s Dream Song by Sandra Leesmith

About the Book

Love's Dream Song CoverAutumn O’Neill came to Arizona on an archaeological dig hoping to find out what happened to the ancient Anasazi tribes, but her true desire was to discover her own Navajo roots. It didn’t help that the dig was located on Jess Barron’s ranch and that the handsome rancher scorned his own native American heritage and believed Autumn was part of a drug ring operating on his land.

When the dig is compromised and danger threatens their lives, Jess and Autumn can no longer fight their attraction for each other. They both come to understand that finding answers means listening to the voices of their ancestors and the longings of their hearts.

Review

What stood out to me the most was the love story of Autumn and Jess, in the midst of the plot itself. You could sense that the romance and the emotions between the two were real and raw—so believable, even though it’s clearly fiction! This is what I love about Leesmith’s work. While being practical in creating her plots, the practicality doesn’t take away from her building a world of romance that any reader wouldn’t want to delve into. There’s a simplicity, yet intensity, to the selection of words she chooses to string together to make a breath-taking line, paragraph, scene, and then, an entire prose.

If you’re a lover of romance/suspense, you can’t go wrong with Leesmith’s books—whether Christian or mainstream! Her characters are dense (in a good way) and interesting to follow; her plots are rich (with everything!) and excellently engaging. Love’s Dream Song certainly delivered in all these, and so much more!

*Though I offer this review to the public, it is my opinion and simply that. A ‘thank you’ to Sandra Leesmith, the author, for a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion*

  1. Thank you Miranda, It is always scary to send you a book to review as I know you are so well read and I worry I don’t measure up. So when you write a review like this is humbles me and delights me as well. Thank you for taking the time to write reviews.
