Album Review – Simplicity by SongLab

Category Christian Genre Worship/Contemporary Rating 4 Stars Review There’s a subtle atmosphere to the music that leads a listener into a mode of worship and praise. The lyrics are beautifully designed and structured in a posture of surrender, humility, and awe for God’s love, holiness, and sovereignty. SongLab leaves no doubt about the sweetness of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Each song is a resounding testimony of the goodness of God and His faithfulness to each of His own. An anthem song to look out for in this EP is Hero, a number wholeheartedly dedicated to worshiping and praising God in utmost adoration simply because He is God. *Though I offer this review to the public, it’s my opinion and simply that. A ‘thank you’ to DREAM Label Group for a free copy in a exchange for my honest opinion.

Music Review ~ One on One EP by Gary LeVox

Category Christian Genre Pop/Urban Country Rating 4.5 Stars Review LeVox presents a well-delivered collection packed full with messages of truth and comfort that highlight the goodness of God’s love in our lives, which also pours out to others if we let it (because this is how the world will know who we are), as well a trust in God’s faithfulness to keep us devoted to the truth so we will never lose our way–a trust that comes from a track record of God never failing, one that keeps us despite the worst inner struggles and outer circumstances, so that in the end the promise that we will win and overcome is fulfilled in our lives no matter what comes our way. A comforting and calming work of art with messages that remain timeless. *Though I offer this review to the public, it’s my opinion and simply that. A ‘thank you’ to Momentum Influencer Network and Big Machine Label Group for a free streamer in exchange for my honest opinion. What you might want to know …

Royal Company is a group of passionare singers/songwriters that came together to make music to glorify God. They were first two, and then took off from there and grew into what they are now. They recently released a beautiful song, Love In Your Eyes, that’s both hopeful and heartwarming. Recently, TBAP had an interview with Chad Dorough, one of the cofounders of the group, and this is what he had to say: Miranda ~ Hello! Glad to have you visit TBAP today. Could you please tell us a bit about Royal Company and your ministry as a group? Chad – Thanks so much for having us! So, our music is a reflection of the love and acceptance we find in Jesus. We want to change the world through love, genuine relationships, and music. Our ministry motto is valuing human hearts over listeners. We care about every heart that hears one of our songs, and we go to great lengths to make sure we can connect with everyone. Music brings us together, but the love of …

Movie Review ~ Selfie Dad

Parenting is no joke! In this light-hearted family film, one dad shakes off a mid-life crisis and reconnects with his family, with his Bible in one hand and his phone in the other. Category Religious/Christian Genre Drama/Family/Comedy Rating 4 Stars Review When Ben Marcus finds himself in a rut despite having a beautiful family, church home, and a well-paying job, he starts to wonder what’s missing. His past as a child has something to do with it, but Ben has found a way to deal with it…or so he thinks. Through his son, he soon stumbles upon a new exciting pop-culture trend, and it’s not long before he starts to gain money and fame through it. All is well until this new venture starts to mess with his life and family, causing him especially to question his parenting. The questions don’t stop there—they stretch all the way back to his past; and the answers he arrives at not only cause him to reprioritize what’s most important, but they open his eyes to see that he never …

Film Review ~ Colors of Character

Category Religious/Christian Genre Documentary Rating 5 Stars Review Steve Skipper’s is a powerful story that puts on display God’s redemptive, restorative and uplifting power. From the drug-pushing lows of the projects to respectable prominence in the art world, Skipper’s story highlights the truth that there isn’t anything that God’s unfailing love cannot cut through to save those weeping in their souls—and the lengths that He would go to, to lead them to realize their need of a saviour. A theme that prevails throughout this story is one where the Father speaks, and His child listens, trusts, and obeys. This strikes at the heart of what is essential to succeeding in your calling as a child of God—you never know where the wind of the Holy Spirit will blow and take you to, and the work that can be accomplished through obedience, as well as the revelation which unfolds that, living for God is truly larger than life in the way that your mind could ever perceive. A much needed and very well presented true story …

Movie Review ~ Church People

Category Christian Genre Church/Gospel/Comedy Rating 3.5 Stars Review Church People is a comedic story that highlights the gimmicks being used by some mega churches or individuals to attract attention in the name of preaching the gospel. While the story is essentially serious, tucked in the right places are the comedic effects and lovable (but cliché) characters. Though the story is pretty much predictable, the theme, though, is unique in the sense that it’s not common in this genre, and execution was near perfect. It was engaging start to finish, and the actors gave just he right amount to delight—never too light, never too heavy. It was interesting to note that there were multiple lessons to be learned, but none of it came off as preachy, but rather,  well-delivered parts of the plot. Church people is a lovely choice if you’re in search of a movie with a serious theme delivered in a lighter mode in a fun and hilarious way. *Though I offer this review to the public, it’s my opinion and simply that. My …

Movie Review ~ Dolphin Island

Category Christian Genre Drama/Family Rating 2.5 Stars Review Dolphin Island is the story of a teenage girl being raised by her grandfather, and together, they face a tough situation stemming from a family feud that began years ago. Eventually they overcome, and gain more than they ever had, wrapping up the story with a nice “happily-ever-after” bow. While the theme is sweet and interesting, execution of certain parts of the plot did not translate into the best professional output. Much of it can be overlooked to enjoy the story, but not necessarily ignored. And there’s also the numerous clichés. Overall, it’s a sweet story, but doesn’t offer more than that—sweetness. *Though I offer this review to the public, it’s my opinion and simply that. My appreciation to Entertainment Squad for a free screener in exchange for my honest opinion.
