Album Review ~ Holy Roar By Chris Tomlin

HOLY ROAR: the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts. It’s every voice together, changing the way we worship. Category Religious/Christian Genre Contemporary Praise/Worship Release Date October 26, 2018. Rating 5 Stars Review Tomlin’s Holy Roar is so full of heart, worship, and absolute surrender to God, prepared with a zeal that persuades the listener in holy atmosphere to do the same. The music is the most excellent blend of contemporary praise/worship (in recent times)–rich with depth, passionate lyrics, and the wealthiest of melodies, touching on subjects from faith to heaven and [almost] everything in-between. There’s a “good ol” feeling to some of the songs that remind one of the old greats, and yet, still combines fantastically with the songs that are more modern/urban. Holy Roar, as Tomlin implies, reverberates with enthusiastic praise and surrender that stems from the unrelenting passion to worship God and lead others to do the same. A beautifully put-together …

Album Review ~ Daydreamer By Matthew Parker

Category General Genre Pop Release Date October 26, 2018. Rating 4.5 Stars Review Matthew Parker’s Daydreamer opens with the eclectic Alice, an invitation to a musical journey inspired by a heart rich with much to say about life, which is the undertone expressed throughout the album in a myriad of ways. The beauty of Daydreamer album—as showcased by the song, also, by which the album is titled—is that it highlights the truth that Christians, like everyone else, live in a world where each individual is exposed to multiple experiences that come together to build the individual into the person that they are—love, dreams, friendship, mistakes, faith, hope, heartbreak, sorrow etc. And in the midst of the lyrics and the music, is a signature blend which brings to the music scene a quintessential pop quality unique to Parker and Parker alone. Parker hits his notes with such beautiful melodious ease and impressive skill that it is nothing short of outstanding. Daydreamer is an album that invites the listener to experience the highs and lows while maintaining …

Album Review ~ Hiding Place By Tori Kelly

Category Religious/Christian Genre Gospel R&B/Pop/Soul Release Date September 14, 2018. Rating 5 Stars Review Tori Kelly’s Hiding Place is rich with soul, vulnerability and truth. Her heart, lyrics and voice touch to the deepest parts, whether she’s hitting the highest notes or riding the lowest pitches. Clearly intentional and delicate about her theme, it is obvious Kelly aimed to inspire faith, hope, and love for the darkest of times with her story, as she boldly tells about the goodness and faithfulness of God in leading her through her toughest times and supplying her joy, strength, and love for God, herself, and others when she needed it the most. Kelly may have aimed to bless and inspire, but it’s simply impossible not to be entertained by Hiding Place, as each unique song touches on something that resonates on a personal level with most living souls. *Though I offer this review to the public, it is my opinion and simply that. My gratitude to Propeller Consulting, LLC for a free CD copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Album Review ~ Nobody Loves Me Like You Do By Chris Tomlin

Category Religious/Christian Genre Contemporary Praise/Worship Release Date August 17, 2018. Rating 5 Stars Review This softly worshipful but powerful praise & worship shows a heart that displays gratitude and satisfaction toward God with the finest of music, lyrics, and passionate voices. There’s a maturity to the tone of the music that reflects the truth that Tomlin has been doing this for a while; but this is also beyond fine-tuned skill; this is a person that has grown in their relationship with God. It is seen in the genuineness of his heart throughout the EP. It can’t be explained. Only heard and perceived. For an album that could easily lead you into a mode of worship, pick up Tomlin’s Nobody Loves Me Like You Do.

Album Review ~ Control (Vol. 1) By Joel Vaughn

Category Religious/Christian/Inspirational Genre Pop Release Date July 27, 2018. Rating 4.5 Stars Review Timely. Deep. Sincere…are just a few words to describe Joel Vaughn’s remarkable forthcoming release, Control Vol. 1. The maturity with which Vaughn speaks his truth is inspirationally amiable and garners respect. It takes growth and humility to confess one’s truth and messy experiences in such a way that in the end, it highlights peace, gratitude, hope, and joy…and, yeah, it’s no wonder Vaughn chooses to close the album with a number titled Joy. Every song is clearly prayerfully written, packed with powerful candor, and track arranged in a manner to speak a message of life, peace, hope, and rest that can be found only in Jesus. In the midst of this awesomeness that chronicles a peculiar season where God pulls down pride, false humility and lovingly builds this individual with the perseverance that fosters character, and adds the peace, rest, and joy that comes only from genuine faith brought forth from drilling trials, please pay attention to track #4, Back Where I …

God’s Chosen is a special group of charming ladies that love God and are clearly passionately about His work on earth, particularly in the ministry of music/singing. Take a look! Miranda ~ Hello! So good to have you on TBAP! Please tell us a bit about God’s Chosen. Also, how did you choose the name for your group? GC: God’s Chosen consists of three ladies (Keisha, Sarah, and Zebrina). We are women who are deeply in love with God, committed to ministry, and die-hard fans of Gospel and Christian music. The name came about quite haphazardly. It was the …
