Article ~ Peace: Which Do You Choose—God’s Or The World’s?

According to the Livio English Dictionary, peace is a state of quiet and harmony, free of oppressive and unpleasant thoughts and emotions. We, humans, all want peace, but we don’t often realize that there are two kinds of peace—temporary and permanent. The temporary peace is one we gain from our environment—the outside world. It’s the kind we gain when we think we’ve gotten everything that we desire, and believe that everything around us is in place the way that it should be for us. The problem, however, is that this peace only lasts for a short while, leaving us insecure, scared, and unsure of what is to become of us when our environment changes into one that is less stable, desirable or pleasant. The second, the permanent kind, we cannot give ourselves nor can we receive it from our environment and the outside world. It comes only from the Holy Spirit when we allow Him to come into our lives and stay inside us (in our hearts). Unlike the temporary peace that we gain because …

Album Review ~ Control (Vol. 1) By Joel Vaughn

Category Religious/Christian/Inspirational Genre Pop Release Date July 27, 2018. Rating 4.5 Stars Review Timely. Deep. Sincere…are just a few words to describe Joel Vaughn’s remarkable forthcoming release, Control Vol. 1. The maturity with which Vaughn speaks his truth is inspirationally amiable and garners respect. It takes growth and humility to confess one’s truth and messy experiences in such a way that in the end, it highlights peace, gratitude, hope, and joy…and, yeah, it’s no wonder Vaughn chooses to close the album with a number titled Joy. Every song is clearly prayerfully written, packed with powerful candor, and track arranged in a manner to speak a message of life, peace, hope, and rest that can be found only in Jesus. In the midst of this awesomeness that chronicles a peculiar season where God pulls down pride, false humility and lovingly builds this individual with the perseverance that fosters character, and adds the peace, rest, and joy that comes only from genuine faith brought forth from drilling trials, please pay attention to track #4, Back Where I …

Category General Genre Rock/Electric Release Date June 8, 2018. Rating 4.5 Stars Review In this 70’s style rock feature, Max presents AWOL with a unique flavor of general mixes that isn’t often heard, with deeply metaphorical lyrics that have an eccentric quality to them, which are endearing in their unique sort of way. AWOL is strikingly thought-provoking, eccentrically deep, and uniquely entertaining. About Kevin Max Often perceived as the eccentric, attention-seeking member of the CCM trio DC Talk, Kevin Max grew up outside of Grand Rapids, MI. Formerly known as Kevin Smith, music played a vital part in his formative years. Max started singing at the age of four and remembers “being carted around to schools, churches, and radio programs.” He attended college at Virginia’s Liberty University, where he met fellow DC Talk members Toby McKeehan …

Article ~ Patience Vs Tolerance (Part 2): The Trick & The Difference

Patience endures all things by faith, and does it with joy, even in the midst of sorrow and intense discomfort. Tolerance is incapable of an inward positive attitude despite its outward display, which can only last for so long. The question every Christian needs to ask is: “Have I being living in tolerance or patience?” If you consider yourself to be generally patient, but are constantly unable to stop yourself from venting your frustrations when better judgment tells you that it is wiser to restrain yourself—which in turn frustrates you even more—then you probably haven’t learned the Spirit’s patience, but have been running on the fuel of human tolerance and are burned out already. Your tolerance eventually gives way to your frustration because in its flawed nature, it is highly dependent upon your moods/emotions. And every mature Christian knows that it is not wise to live a life ruled by emotions. You have to live above them, and make them cooperate with the will of God made known to you. Does that mean we should …
