Sunny Sunday Poetry Special Feature ~ Rodrigo’s Tale (To Die Once, PArt 4)

Hello Everyone! It’s a blog tour stop! First of, let me say, “Happy, happy Easter Sunday!” I personally believe it’s no coincidence that this Sunday is found within the period of the blog tour for my book, To Die Once, and more especially, Rodrigo’s story written in poetry style. To Die Once is a story of grace–God’s healing power and redemption. To all my readers, I hope you enjoy this piece!   ~ Tales of a Cunning Man Redeemed by Grace ~ Swiftly and deftly, I move as fleet It’s fun, it’s groovy when I can’t be beat I’ll make my name, take my place, and carve my seat High up in the sky despite the race’s heat It has been this way for as long as I know To win, to conquer wherever I go Come rain, come shine, hail or snow I will have my way, I won’t take no So why, then does this beautiful woman–Jenny–think that She’ll turn me away and fling me like a hat With one glance, a cold …

Sunny Sunday Poetry Special Feature & Giveaway! ~ Jennifer’s Story (Matter’s of the Heart) ~ To Die Once

My fair lady, they say, but my name is Jennifer I dreamed of a life full of love that’s Tender Was it wrong to wish on willows for norms that were Gentler? Or hold unto a man whose love promised me Better? I didn’t mean it; I didn’t see it Coming Passion and romance so rich and Stunning Swept into the arms of a man so Cunning He teased my senses so, and I stopped Running When I realized the truth, it was too Late My feet had sunk beyond redemption’s own Pate My heart, my soul, I’d given and promised to Wait For the one I called my love, my all, my true Mate I could swear my joy was God’s own Fate Bestowed upon me in bountiful Rate Why else was it sweet like delicious Date Or beautiful like roses hung on a Gate But little did I know that a bit of a Lie Was poison that could kill and cause me to Die To die once—my love, my heart—I Sigh Rodrigo, …

Sunny Sunday Poetry Special Feature~ Blog Tour Stop for the Child of Grace Book Series: To Die Once (Part 1 & 2)

Dear friends, This is a blog tour stop for my upcoming release, To Die Once, an inspirational romance in the Child of Grace book series! These poems were composed in honor of the release of this book. Stay tuned for part III, IV, V, VI & VII in the coming Sundays! Part I ~ The Love Story This is a love story Not one full of glory Diced with thorns, but not gory Oh, just listen to the story! Two unequally yoked hearts Come together as hinged carts At first it seemed pretty like the arts But soon came along piercing darts It began with a simple kiss Full of passion and even bliss But oh did they miss That without God their love was a diss You could see they felt so alive Much more than bees in a hive Like stars–awarded a perfect five Cos they swore to love’s depths they’d dive But soon the winds of trouble came blowing The thorns beneath the roses unfolding They pierced, they tore like a lion …

An Update from this Writer … Also ~ What Makes A Good Book?

Hello folks! First, let me apologize for not paying as much attention to this blog as I should have these past weeks. Things have been really crazy, but good. I thank God for that. It caused me to take a step back and give myself a very much needed break. Read some books that have shocked, teased and made me laugh. And yes, in the coming reviews you might come across these words a lot, ‘this book surprised me’, ‘this book turned out better than I thought’, or something along that line. I selected a few from publishing houses, while others were from authors that personally contacted me. And yeah, two authors finally got me to become YA fans—Rektok Ross and Emily Camp, the review for their books, ‘Prodigal’ and ‘Here Comes the Light’—such lovely reads will be coming shortly as well. You can follow my reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari and on my blog. And because I post on Scripity.com, you will find them there as well. Also took a break from researching Paris …
